Description: Wayside is located in a peaceful lake and mountain district known as the Gap of Dunloe. Rest well and wake up to a delicious breakfast cooked to order with local produce. Walk, cycle, ponytrek or travel in horse drawn carriage through this great glacial valley. The B&B is ideal for touring Dingle, Ring of Kerry, Beara and Killarney (6km). Ideal area for golfing, fishing & touring - all tours arranged.
Traditional Irish music sessions at Kate Kearney's Cottage (1km) with bar food served served daily. Hotel Dunloe Castle is nearby. The surrounding area has fabulous gardens with trees & shrubs from around the world. The Dunloe Ogham Stones are nearby (Ogham being the earliest form of Irish writing). Ideal base for climbing Carrantouhill, Ireland's highest mountain, along with the MacGillicuddy reeks and the Purple, Tomies, Sheehy Mountain Ridge which afford spectacular views over upper, middle and lower lakes.
Fishing on the River Laune (Permits: salmon Euro25, trout Euro8 per day) available. Also nearby is Beaufort Golf Course(18 hole) and Dunloe golf course (9 hole)
